In short, I consider How We Feel is one of the two best free mood tracking apps on the market (another one is Funiki). I was genuinely surprised that I discovered it so late. Probably because they don’t try to push “mood tracker” into their name:). Why? Let’s see.
The app greets you with the proposal to check in your feelings. In the last two years I was looking into these apps, I think it’s only one example (besides Funiki, again), which takes non-standard approach on logging your moods. So there is no 5 or 7 “bad to good” emojis, but rather a matrix of feelings with two axes: Energy and Pleasure. You choose if you feel energetic or not, and happy or not simultaneously across the wide range of feelings. Great, isn’t it?!
Another great option the app has is a wide set of tools to work on your wellbeing, like exploring your moods and understanding yourself. They have guides by professionals that try to help you.

The app also has a Friends section where you can see how your friends feel.

Of course, no mood tracking app goes without statistics. Here they are shown on Analyze page. All the data is split per month, with the total breakdown for emotions, as well as how you felt on particular days of week and parts of day:

How We Feel also shows associated activities, places and people:

In general, Analyze section is designed well and serves its purpose. However, the app definitely lacks possibilities of arbitrary date range filters, choosing activity or a place to see associated data etc. In this regard, despite looking very good, it’s not as versatile as Daylio or Funiki.
How We Feel is founded as non-commercial project and backed by serious people, that’s why it’s a very well done app. I can definitely recommend to check it out. You can do this in Apple AppStore or Google Play Store. Just go to their website and scan the QR: https://howwefeel.org
