Unhinged – design-first mood tracking app

Simple and polished mood tracking app for those who don’t need to much statistics:).

Today we are going to have a short review for another mood tracking app – Unhinged. It’s available on iPhone and is created by one person who you can follow on Threads: https://www.threads.net/@marcel.fyi. The author shares the app updates and his journey in creating it, so if you’re into it, feel free to follow him!

The functionality of the app is pretty basic, it doesn’t have many analytics or insights. However, it has an interesting angle on emotion tracking by allowing you to tag people in addition to activities.

One important thing to mention is that custom tags or viewing stats from the past months is only available in paid version, so unfortunately, the app isn’t usable in its free version.

This screen will be shown a lot when you tap around:)

As the app emphasizes the importance of people around you, it has a separate menu item for them. The first screen is similar to most other mood tracking apps and shows you your mood data for the day.

As you can see, the app has very clean and simple UI. It looks very good to me.

The statistics are pretty basic, they allow you to see your past moods, overall mood count, and see how often you logged various activities.

Mood creation offers you to choose one of five moods, associated tags and people. Pretty standard functionality here. And of course, you can set reminders to not forget about logging your mood.

As you can see, the app UI is very nice, it’s clearly visible that the author cares about design. So if having basic analytics is good for you, and you are ready to pay $1,49 per month, I definitely recommend to check this app.
